not hungry, not full question

Recommended Posts

so i eat my creamed Soup and really need to slow down. it is not like i eat it and it just comes back up it is just that it sort of just sits there, but there is no feeling of full. i don't have any warning signs and at some sittings i can eat more than others. i just feel like i should feel something, but i don't. it doesn't bother me because i am not hungry, but just want to see if this was a forever thing or if anyone can tell me in their words how they feel when they eat. i am almost 2 weeks out. the intial weightloss is quite scary since i am already down 30 pounds in less than two weeks. i hope it slows down. seems a bit too fast which was my biggest fear.

liquids just go through. You will feel a LOT more restriction when you move to mushies. Don't complain about the weight loss! Some of that is Water, as your body depletes its glycogen stores, and you don't have to worry--you won't continue to lose at that rate. Everything evens out as your body weight drops.

Seems like you're right on track and having great results!

What Meg said--You're not going to feel full on liquids. Since you won't get a full feeling, I suggest you start measuring your food, and keep measuring as you move to mushies. Measurement and listening to your body will help you not to overeat, get foamies, or vomit. When you start to eat solid food, you will figure out what your "full" signal is. Some people burp; some hiccup; some people get a runny nose.

As far as the weight loss, this is the golden time for you. You will never lose as much as fast as in the first month, and it will slow down pretty quick. I lost 17 lbs the first month (started at 232), 9 the second month, 7 the third month....five and a half months out and I am really happy I had the 17 lb bump the first month. You will be fine, and really grateful that you dropped a lot of weight early on when in month five or six you lose lots less.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
