Scheduled losing? And awful compliments

Recommended Posts

Wow! I am 5'9" and I would kill to get in a size 14 again. WTF is wrong with people, especially that nurse?! I haven't had negative comments, so I can't even imagine. I'd probably just cry!

Wow, I cant believe some of the stories you guys are posting that have occured- everything from the OB/GYN and the guy telling you to lose 30 lbs- goodness!

I can't believe people sometimes, I really can't. I mean, I'm thinking of all the different guys with such different body types and I've never discriminated. I've dated em board thin, and then chunky monkeys. LOL. It never mattered to me- but to the world, I suppose, it's a different story.

I remember specifically something that happened a couple weeks ago-- someone said to me

"you're absolutely perfect.. except your weight. And you're working on that". Uhm, are you kidding me? Yes, it was meant to be another nice comment but goodness.. I suppose some people cannot think outside of the boxes society places them in, yes?

As I said before, I'm glad I wont have to deal with this much longer. I know, however, when I am smaller- those types of compliments and comments will never leave my lips.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
