flower, stop the cycle by switching to liquids for 24 hours, then spend a few days on soft foods. I'd also recommend aloe vera juice, 2-3 ounces 2-3 times a day at least to help heal any swollen tissues around your band.

At that point you need to evaluate whether or not you need a small unfill. If doing the above doesn't solve your problems, then you need an unfill. If you are able to get "back to normal", then you need to re-learn your restriction level and work with it. Start logging your food for a few days.

I'll confess, I have PB'd food, waited 10-20 min and then gone back and finished my meal. It's not good practice, since a PB (or vomit) is NOT good for my band. flower, you need to slow down and really listen to your band and body.

You probably don't need an unfill...you just need to do some behavior modification. I know...I see myself in your post!

Be encouraged! You can do this! Go back to Bandster Eating 101.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
