I am new here like others been looking on here before officially joining! I am getting sleeeved May 27th :D I started my Pre-op liquid diet on May 13th which has not been easy :( As my date gets closer i am getting more nervous and scared :( I am 26 years old i have two amazing children my son 7 years old and my daughter 4 years old! I have only had one surgery before and a c-section with my son. After my children my highest weight was 288, now with pre-op diet and all i am at 248 i am 5'7 not sure what im supposed to weigh exactly? Even as a teen the lowest i weighed was around 150. I have been having back issues the last two years, i have degenerative disc disaese and a small tear in my disc, also some heart palps and rapid heartbeats i think pac, pvc? So i hope with this these things improve ;) Has anyone delt with any of these issues pre and post op? Any one elese getting sleeved May 27th? Any support, advice, help will be greatly appreciated :D

Welcome and congratulations on getting sleeved on the 27th. I haven't been sleeved yet, but based on what others have posted, yes, the surgery will help with many of your health concerns. I think it's perfectly natural to be getting more nervous and scared. Afterall, this is a major surgery. However, keep in mind the reasons you are doing this and that will help. Feel free to ask questions here too. I have no doubt that you will come though it just fine. :)

27th here too!!! I think we already met on another post Hollie but i'm getting excited (and a bit nervous). I had the two week pre-op diet and about an hour from now I will be on Clear liquids until midnight and then of course, black out! Need to be at the hospital by 6:30am for surgery prep and not sure what exact time my surgery is yet.

Good luck tomorrow, i'll be thinking about you and now 1twomany! We can do it!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
