I am 4 days post op and doing really great. Sometimes I find myself drinking too fast which results in a gas pain under my breast bone but it quickly passes. My doctor said it is okay to add two teaspoons of low fat creamy strained Soups between Protein Shakes and today I tried the creamy organice butternut squash version and let me just say it was amazing. It made feel normal again. I had 4 oz and another 4 oz about 2 hours later. Is that normal?? It went down easy and I had no problems. Doesn't 4 oz. sound like a lot to fit in 4 days post op? Anyway, other than being sore and having pain if I drink Water too fast, I am doing really well. I am craving a scrambled egg but I can't have that until 2 weeks out-I did make an egg custard but I am afraid to eat it because the consistancy is a bit tougher than a yogurt-I will wait on trying that one.

Sounds completely normal IMO. I can drink an 11 oz Protein Shake (pre-made, made with Water not milk) in about 30minutes time. But can only drink 3/4 cup of roasted red pepper and Tomato Soup. blink.gif It all depends on consistency and thickness. The 2 types of butternut squash Soup I've tried are of medium thickness so probably 4-6 oz would be right around how much I could get down too (8 days post op)

I'm having the same problem getting liquids in. I fear dehydration is in my future. Even a small sip gives me pain right now. I'm scared to try anything not liquid in the future!

I'm on Clear Liquids for another week but its ok since I can hardly consume enuff fluids to keep me hydrated right now. I did good yesterday...got 64oz in and drank 80g of Protein but today was more challenging. I made the mistake of having a Cytomax Protein Drink first thing in the morning, thinking I was as good as yesterday, but it made me sick from both ends. I know it's different for everyone but it seems like I'm struggling more than others...very discouraging

Since all the Protein powders I've tried stink (except for PURE Protein in a can which is actually smooth creamy and great tasting) I am going to the Vitamin shopee today to pick up the new 3 OZ whey protein bullet by IDS which=42 grams of protein! Gals, guys, try this if you are having a hard time getting the protein in. I will let you know how it is after I buy it today. Hope this helps! By the way, last night at about 10 Pm, I felt God awful, alomst passed out--I had the cold sweats all over my body, dizzy, shaking, felt like I was going to throw up (but didn't) I breathed through it and it passed within about 5-6 minutes. This sounds like dumping syndrome, right? Does anyone know what would have caused this so late at night? I drank some Water and chewed on some ice cubes about 30 minutes before, could that have caused it???

I wanna know more about the Soup. What is the brand? Sounds like something I'd like to add to my menu's as a part of my goal is to learn new foods and expand my sometimes limited foods.

I'm 6 days out and barely able to process Water. I can get about 2 ounces of "food" down and then it sounds like my stomach is a boiler. Oh well, at least the puking has stopped. (Hunting that positive spin! :D Not easy to find when your head is in a bucket several times a day!)

I haven't had any vomiting other than that disgusting leak test junk.... puked all over the floor in the lab LOL

Today is already better. I've gotten down 1/2 a bottle of apple juice and 1 cup of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup and 1 oz of cottage cheese with no issues. I'm currently working on a berry Protein smoothie drink.

Very little pain upon swallowing today. Looks like I'm rounding the bend!

Yes, I bought the grape. I spoke to my surgeon before trying it and he said not to use it because it is collagen and whey. collagen isn't a great source of Protein for us. What I now decided to do was.. I bought the Designer Whey flavorless protein (1 scoop is 19 grams ) and I added to 1/2 a can of ready to drink PURE protein and which =26 grams for the 1/2 can or 5.5 oz..pretty cool, huh? Try that. You can get PURE and desiger at the Vitamin Shoppe.

I suggest trying popsicles or warm broth, one or the other may do the trick to help you get more fluids in.

Hi, I'm 5 days post op and I'm suppose to only drink my Protein Shake, clear liquids and sugar free pops. Do you think I could try strained Soups. I have been struggling, diarrhea, feeling sick, smelling the hospital at home which also makes me sick. I broke down yesterday because I had such an awful headache. Help with any suggestions. The stomach pain in finally getting better.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
