Your body is freaking out like, where the hell are my calories!!!! LOL! Give it time. I get depressed too, like I expected my weight to fall off me and feel awesome automatically. Plus the weather is crap by me. Rain everyday and cooler than normal. I get bummed. My doc told me to aim for 1200cals a day and that seems unreal. I am going to try to weigh myself only twice a week. I am a freak about my scale too. Don't worry, it will come off. Try to relax! :P

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I try not to give myself too much time to wallow in my sadness. I thought better of it after I posted and saw there are others going through what I'm going through right now.

I know I have so much to be grateful for. I'm going to focus on the positive.

Hey, we all have to vent sometimes! I come here for that since my husband doesn't really get it. I really haven't told my friends yet. Some of my coworkers know, but that's not helpful either. :P

Keep your eye on the prize and know that this is just temporary. We're only being forced to eat like this until we're healed and can then eat more normally (or at least a new normal for us). If you're like me, you were miserable when you were fat, but that wasn't temporary...that was more like a permanent and recurring hell. This shall pass; just take it one day at a time.

I didn't see your original post, but I can tell you that the first 3 weeks were SO HARD!! The lack of food, the crazy mood swings, the fatigue... it was terribly depressing. I think I cried every day for the first 2 weeks. It just felt like it was never going to get better. Then around the one month mark, I felt pretty normal. It's now been almost 2 months and I am surprised at how I feel less anxiety about eating.

As far as weight loss goes, everyone is different. I try to weight myself only once every 2 weeks. I will make myself crazy if I weigh every day.

Hang in there!

Lara

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
