Need Dallas area revision-friendly recommendations

Recommended Posts

The better half wants a sleeve revision, and my doc is just to expensive in full self-pay mode. Any recommendations? We don't want to head to Mexico

Thanks

Dr. Wade Barker and Dr. David Kim both in DFW along with Dr. Nick (he was the priciest out of the 3) when I was researching self-pay in Texas if I could not have had it done here in Florida with insurance.

Dr. Barker was my surgeon and I was pleased with him. He has a very busy office by White Rock Lake. If you do a consult with him, take a book or something. You will be there a while....

You might also check out Dr. Jay from the Dallas Bariatric Center. www.dallasbariatriccenter.com

He has done some of the more complicated revisions. What is your husband wanting a revision from?

I am using Dr. Steven Hamn in Plano. He is part of a Center of Excellence and so far I am very well pleased. My surgery is planned for June 6th.

Good luck and at least check him out.

Neanie

I know Dr. Hamm and Dr. Crebbins won't do revisions on someone else's work. A co worker who is having trouble with her band called them and they won't touch her. I think it is unfortunate but that is just my opinion.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
