I made it through day 5 on the pre op liquid diet

Recommended Posts

Okay folks...so day end of day 5 of the liquid diet...I thought I would never say this but IT IS DEFINATELY getting better....I am staying full on broth and making sure I have my Protein Shakes no more than 5 hours a part...I was at mom's for dinner tonight along with 20 other family members and was surrounded by ALL of my favorite foods from twice baked potatoes to chicken smothered in a mushroom gravey sauce to rainbow Cookies and easter chocolate galore!!! BUT, I stayed strong and kept my eye on the prize and said to myself this time next year I will wearing anything I want and looking damn good! So, I got through it and I know you can too!!!! Just wanted to share!

Happy Palm Sunday!

WE CAN DO THIS!:P

For Easter, I am baking the ham and my mom asked me to make whoopee pies to go with her homemade ice cream. I'll be strong but...goodness! Luckily ham isn't my fave. Now, if we were talking about Tex-Mex I might be in trouble! I think I will avoid looking at the side dishes...

We can DO THIS!!

You are brave! I was supposed to bake the ham along with the rest of Easter dinner as it is my one holiday that I host in my home...but this year I cancelled..lol!!! I told my in laws that I wasn't up to it. Can you ask someone else in your family to make those things?? If I had to cook anything today I don't think I would have been as strong, ya know? Maybe buy the ham and whoopie pie ingredients and pass it off to someone else to make...just a suggestion. :P

I also host our Easter family dinner, and this year I cancelled. I will be on Day 7 of my pre-op diet and I was afraid I wouldn't have the energy or desire to go all out for a big family dinner. So my mom, thinking that it's heresy to NOT have Easter dinner, is having it at her house. I will go and take my Lean Cuisine (my last day of that before a week of ONLY liquids) and she is making Decaf tea sweetened with Splenda. I'm hoping by Day 7 I will be past the headache and lethargy and not a complete grouch.

We can all do this!!! I am so determined not to cheat so that my liver will be picture perfect by surgery date. Let's just all keep each other encouraged for these two weeks!

And here I am not starting my liquids until the day after Easter and I have no plans on the day to torture me like you all do. It does not seem fair to you! Then I will be liquids only for my own two looooong weeks.

I am on day 6 of the liquid diet and doing pretty good, I had my drink while my hubby and buddy had their dinner last night. I stood strong! My son keeps saying sorry Mom. I keep telling him dont be, you have to eat, I am doing this for us! My hubby is the chef in the family and damn good at it, but did not once mention Easter dinner. I love him so much he is there for me and I am so happy for that! You all will make it through it!

I'll be recovering from surgery on Easter and since we don't live anywhere near any family and I'm not cooking I won't have to deal with it!! WOO HOO!

I do feel your pain though folks, HUG

I always host Easter for my family. No problem, I"m going to have my ribeye steak, but instead of fattening side dishes, I'll be making some healthier things. Grilled asparagus for sure, but instead of using butter what should I use?

I will be on day 4 of liquids on Easter Sunday, but I'm staying home while the family goes to the inlaws for dinner. I just can't go "watch"....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
