monthly payments

Recommended Posts

I hope you don't mind, but I am curious as to what self pay people are paying in monthly payments. I am trying to get an idea as to what the monthly cost will be. When I contacted my credit union for a $20,000 loan it was over $500 a month. That may be too much for my budget to handle at this time and insurance is a no so I must self pay. thanks :help:

You can do lots better than that. Go to capital one's health loans and they're some more but I'm blank at this minute. You can get 2 % interest health loans. That's outrageous. Good luck, are you having it done in the states or Mexico? That would make a lot of difference. Mine is only 8500.00 self pay.

Thanks for the tip. I am thinking I want to be close to home and there is Dr. Fox in Tacoma. They have a deal for $12,800 but does not include pre op costs. also will need a bit for time off work as I have already used most of my vacation.

I too live in Washington...Federal Way to be exact. The advice to go to Capital One is a good decision IF you're planning on going to a dr. here in the states, they don't finance for any doctors that don't have a practice outside of the US. I applied for CapOne thinking it would be the 2%..however keep in mind that it's all based off of your credit and the lower your credit score, the higher your payments. I'm heading to Dr. Ortiz in Mexico for $8500US (includes pre-op work, etc.) and received a loan by surgeryloans at $290/month payback.

congrats ms on your surgery. When I was trying to decide on waiting for insurance or self pay it was between Dr. Ortiz and Dr. Sanchez and they both seem to be wonderful. Hope everything goes great for you. And Mr.D, you'll find a way to work it out, we all do, sometimes it takes some creative financing.

Good luck,

Sherri

I just applied for CapOne and they have Dr. Ortiz (from Mexico) on their list with a California address. Looks like maybe they found a loophole or something with a California office. I have to wait to confirm tomorrow, but I think Dr. Ortiz can receive CapOne payments. Does anyone else know about this?

My credit isn't the greatest and the 1.9% is only for the short term financing (no more than 24 months I think) and I wanted longer term. My rate isn't good but I expected that - payments about $240 and I can always pay it off early to aviod those interest charges

Do you currently have insurance? If so, you may be able to get your pre-op testing covered under your insurance plan. Check with the surgeon's office to see exactly what they require and then visit your PCP for the testing referrals.

Hi Bird, they do have Dr. Ortiz in their system; however, they will verify his US Medical license..which he doesn't have. Even though he's in the system as California, which I think was my doing when I was trying to rig up financing, the fact of the matter is that their Dr.'s have to have a US medical license and Dr. Ortiz doesn't. If you want Dr. Ortiz, go through SurgeryLoans.com....the will provide you the flexibility to search for Dr.'s in Mexico and allow you to make a well informed, not as expensive as the US, decision. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to talk further....

Good Luck!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
