4 weeks today post op!

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to tell everyone I am 4 weeks post op and I am feeling great. I still feel hungry at times and get jealous that I can't eat certain things that I see my friends eating. I know soon I will but wonder when? I have only thrown up once and I think it was because I didn't wait long enough between meals. It seems like I am learning when I am full now. As soon as I feel it I just stop eating. I am drinking Protein but don't feel like I am getting enough. I hope to see my doctor in the next few weeks so he can say my stomach is good to go. The good news is that when I went for my sugary I was 292 and today I weighed in at 257. I absoulety feel great and happy my doctor convinced me to get the sleeve over the lap band. Thanks for all the information on this site and support. I am still sticking to mushies to be on the safe side and actually had 1 glass of wine and an amstel light last Saturday. I was only able to drink half of the beer which was funny. It takes a little used to getting familiar with your new body but the compliments from friends are well worth it.

Best regards to all,

Mo

Funny thing is that I went from drinking a lot of coffee with Snacks at work to none cold turkey. I also need to start drinking more Water because I am not getting enough in. I have cheated once with a milkshake from jack in the box but could only have about half of it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
