... a frozen pizza, which used to be a snack for you, can last a whole week in the fridge.

Ain't that the truth!

And for some of my own

  • You don't need to push the car seat all the way back to get in and out of your car.
  • You don't rush to the bedroom to change into sweats after work, normal clothes are comfortable
  • "You want fries with that?" is answered with a resounding 'NO"
  • Punching new holes in your belt is a weekly ritual
  • "Who the hecks hand is that?", then you realize it's YOURS, only skinnier than you remember.
  • Your belly and back don't rub on the shower door when entering and exiting
  • And it maybe TMI but: When you wipe you actually wipe all the way up to the 'exit portal'

You do a double take when seeing yourself in the mirror

Someone you haven't seen in a while doesn't recognize you until you speak

You make frequent trips to the salvation army or goodwill as you know you'll only be in this size for a short period of time

You get weird looks from waiters/waitresses not because you're struggling to fit in the booth but because you tell them you don't need/want a drink with your meal

You eat to live and no longer live to eat

You get invited to something called "The Chocoholic Buffet," and after giving it some thought, you realize you aren't that interested.

  • "You want fries with that?" is answered with a resounding 'NO"

  • Punching new holes in your belt is a weekly ritual

I just made my boss order new belts :)

  • "Who the hecks hand is that?", then you realize it's YOURS, only skinnier than you remember.

  • Your belly and back don't rub on the shower door when entering and exiting

I love all of these!!!!

And yup to the "do you want fries with that?" Nope. Anything to drink "nope". Always gets a weird look!

Or in a restaurant when I say that I am ordering nothing... that alwasy gets a weird look too! Why order a meal when I can only eat a few bites... I just nibble off my family's plates and am fine :)

Oh and going through a clothing size in a month. That is WEIRD TO ME!!! But awesome :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
