Change already.....weight and life

Recommended Posts

So I'm about 20 lbs down already. My life has changed. No more puffy bloatedness when i wake up in the morning. No more sore feet in the morning when I wake up and try to walk. No more adjusting my belt and pulling my restrictive undergarment over my stomach roll.

Today I ate at a restaurant and had my first peice of toast, eggs and grits. I HAD to drink Water the whole time, helped it go down. So I'm learning. I'm very thankful.

It's a good feeling when you realize you body is working better. I remember on weight watchers they would say losing 20% would give you a lot of health benefits. Learningintuition, I'm almost 4 months out and i feel sick if I even take a sip of Water with my food. I was told we could not drink and eat at the same time. I guess all doctors are different. Anyways your doing great wiith your weight loss: )

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU!!

And, ain't life grand? I am nearing my 3-month surgiversary, and have lost 30 pounds so far. I am extremely happy about this, and down two sizes in clothes.. woooHooo!!!

I see that there are many here who have dropped much more weight in 3 months, but I am quite happy.. I could never even lose 5 pounds and keep it off before, and this is for LIFE, for REAL.

The other thing I love about my sleeve is that losing weight is quite painless... it is almost impossible to overeat, and my tastes have really changed for the better.

Now I am working on learning to eat CLEAN, eat healthy and eat the right mix of nutrients. What a wonderful new life!!!!

I am so grateful that I found this web site, I never would have had the courage to go through with this surgery, or the knowledge to navigate the insurance foibles all alone.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
