clear liquids AUGH! any suggestions

Recommended Posts

wow, I'm super excited about the 17th (my surgery day). However, I am not excited about the laxative tonight and these next 3 days of Clear liquids. I have been starving my way through the full liquids. Thank Campbell Soups for cream of potatoe Soup. slap that stuff in the Ninja and I was good to go. Of course, I didn't discover this until 3 days ago. Live and learn.

So if anyone has any really good suggestions for Clear Liquids I am all ears. I get hypoglycemic very easily and need the Protein. And those Protein Shots are super sweet.

This past week I had Wonton Soup....OH HOW I WISH I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT during my liquid stage. IT was WONDERFUL!!!! Just drinking the broth was a treat...the FLAVOR...was OH SO GOOD!! I'm still on mushy's but I went out to eat with a friend to PF CHANGS and that is all I could think to eat. I told my friend she could have my fortune cookie. She opened hers and it said, "Today you will be with a friend and have lots of laughter"! WE were like OMG so she said I HAD to open mind and read it! My fortune cookie said, "Don't give up the beginning is alway hard, it will get better"! We were BLOWN away! LOL First time the fortune cookie spoke the truth!!! LOL We did have LOTS of laughter that day and it IS SO HARD at the beginning but it DOES GET BETTER!!!!

Isopure zero carb have 40gr Protein, clear, and are barely sweet at all. You might want to try those.

Good Luck!

dI think its the no carbs that is causing my problems...headache, fuzzy thinking and super sleepy. Drinking liquids only and they go right through I never seem to be satisfied. My stomach growls constantly even my co-workers talk about hearing it.

I'M HUNGRY!!!!!!!

I cannot say this enough, but powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup was such a godsend for me during my clear phase. It tastes good, is packed with the best Protein our bodies metabolize, is very filling and the warmth just makes you feel so good.

The clears phase is pretty tough and any little bit of sanity you can get from it is worth it!!!

This is where I buy mine. I've only ever known them to sell online.

Unjury Protein Powder unflavored and chicken Soup are definite lifesavers! I mix the unflavored with crystal light, I get my Water and Protein. I also mix the unflavored or the chicken flavored with the broth from caldo de pollo (chicken soup).

Does the protein powder really have "NO" flavor? I'm really nervous about starting the liquid diet as I CAN NOT stand protein powder like you can get put into your smoothies! Yuck!!!

I can't taste it but it definitely has a funky smell so I try not to smell it when I put it in my food. The chicken flavored is pretty good too.

Good luck I know the pre-op liquid diet is hard.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
