scale hasn't moved in a MONTH

Recommended Posts

I'm going insane.

Four months out and I've lost 65 lbs, which seems reasonable I think? Only problem is my weight hasn't changed since before Christmas! How do I jumpstart this thing? I can't possibly be done losing, can I? I'm fighting back those old familiar feelings of failure. Not fun!

Anyone go through this?

65lbs is Amazon, you are doing really good. I'll be lucky if I get to 50 lbs at 4 months. I think we all hate when the scale doesn't move, especially when were doing everything right. Maybe your carbs are high or your calories are too low. Maybe you body is just catching up to how much you lost and your losing inches. Don't let a stall discourage all your hard work be proud of how good your doing: )

Good luck, Janine

My suggestion to you is to shake things up. Try eating different foods and trying different exercises. Focus on getting all your Water and Protein in. 65 lbs in 4 months is AWESOME. Give your body a chance to play catch up with all the weight that you loss. Most importantly, keep your head high. I wish that I will be in your shoes at 4 months out!!

Your not done losing at 4 months, and by the way Congrats! That is fantastic. Just keep up the good work, and a little shake up probably won't hurt either.

Hey,.. don't be discouraged!

64lb in 4mths IS amazing... I am 7 mths out at 50+ lbs so you are going really well!!

I agree with the others, shake things up a little... make sure you are getting your Protein first, reduce carbs if poss and drink a lot of water! I find the Water really helps me if I don't lose for longer than 2 weeks...

what exercise are you doing? Perhaps you are losing inches?

Let us know how you get on and good luck! =]

First off, excellant work on the 65 lbs you have lost! Keep that up! I've been on a stall for ever! The first one was 3 months long then it moved and i lost 10 lbs and now am not losing a thing again. . . very very irratating, but be damned if i'm going to let my body win again. . . so i started a 1000 calorie ADA diet along with increased exercise. . . we'll see what happens. . . i'm not weighing for about 3 - 4 weeks and we'll see then . . . if that doesn't work, well i don't know then. . .i'll let y'all know. .

Teh Erika, I'm in the same boat. I feel your stall pain.

I think we had surgery around the same time. I'm 4 months out, down 81lbs but the scale hasn't moved in many weeks- probably close to a month now with no real significant loss.

I was on a diretic last week b/c swelling from a massive bruise on my leg so I lost 9lbs in Water weight but now of course this week it is slowly creeping back up on me. I expected this but it is still really depressing to see the number go back up. I'm doing what my doctor here said to do, which is different than what the docs in America seem to say but I trust him, he's the best in Asia and docs from the US come to learn from him. And hell I've lost 80lbs in 4 months and I don't count carbs....living in Asia its not possible to say no rice. And there are no sugar free foods in the grocery store here and all that other "diet" food that is available by the isle load in the States/Western world. But still this stall is very tough to slog through. I'm exercising as much as I can- on average 4 times a week.

I feel the same I had my sleeve on 1/17 and I have only lost 28lbs. I see other people have lost alot more in shoter periods of time. But I am also 58 so age does have a bit to do with it. I will not give up although sometimes I wonder if I made the right decision. Good Luck!!!!

Only 28 pounds in three weeks? I wonder if I made the right decision? Are you kidding? Get a grip, that is FANTASTIC. Have you ever lost that much weight doing anything else? The last time I was on weight watchers it took me two years to lose 25 pounds.....

I think 65 pounds in four months is a wonderful weight loss. I had a stall for six weeks, ate a small amount of fat (1/4 of a steak and a bite of a cupcake) and that started things moving....also drink a lot of water.....that really helps get things moving!!! You are doing a great job, stalls happen to most people. You just have to keep positive through them!! You are doing GREAT!

Hang in there... that scale will move again! I am down 31 lbs and was sleeved on 12/28. I can only dream of being down 65lbs 4 months out!!!! :) Also, I totally agree with everyone else about shaking up your routine :)

Wow, amazing weightloss. I have only lost 30 in 3 months and I have been stalled for a month. I could cry at times. I know it is because I took off 50 before surgery, but still.

I have gone over everything with my Nut and the only things I am guilty of is not getting enough calories a day and needing to add essential fatty acids in my diet.

Have you heard of the 5day pouch test? I've heard of some vsg'rs going on liquids again for a week to "startover" so to speak and shrink the sleeve a little. From what I hear it works.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
