Still baffled on fullness!

Recommended Posts

I am 2 weeks out and still baffled at how little food I am eating and yet I am not ever hungry. I just ate one egg....well not even one egg, couldn't get it all down. Yesterday at 1p, had 5 bites of thinned mashed potatoes and was Thanksgiving day dinner stuffed until I went to bed. REALLY?? Can it be this easy? I'm losing about a pound a day and I'm not suffering in the least. That was a big concern of mine, that I'd get the "no food migraine" or nauseous from not eating. Thankfully none of that happens. Four more lbs til I'm the skinniest I've been in years....and that should happen about Sunday...woot woot!!

Congrats on your success already.

Remember, you are learning about your new body, so be patient. In time you will learn fullness and now is the time to measure everything. Eventually you can eyeball what you can and can not eat. Even at 4+ months out I sometimes forget and fill my plate, laughing "who am I kidding?" You will learn fullness by your body response. Sometimes I get excess siliva (gross) or hiccup when eating to quickly. Best wishes on a speedy recovery and more success!

Yep, 2 months out and a hard boiled egg is a BIG Breakfast, to get it, my Vitamins & pills and a small glass of Water with Miralax and I am stuffed. It takes me about 1/2 hour to down them all.

We are lucky, a FEW sleevers have reported that they feel hungry all the time. Glad I am not in that group.

QFT!

I guess we got lucky, but it's hard for me to imagine it's all luck. I DO feel hunger sometimes, but then I remember that part of my stomach was cut out and it must all be in my head. That seems to help. laugh.gif

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
