I just had the same issue today with the bariatric advantaage Protein. The banana kind ran right thru me! I'm also pe-op, but I'm just trying to get to a place where I can go a whole day on a liquid diet. I figured if i find a brand i really like, it would be easier. So far no such luck...

What I'm drinking tastes pretty good. Maybe it's the chocolate. I'm going to try a different flavor. Other than the shakes, the only other things I'm having is coffee/tea, and veggies. I'm not hungry. I'm having surgery this Monday and I can't wait.!!

I like the nectar Protein drink mix. I just finished a container of the strawberry-kiwi flavor. It was very good. Now I am trying the caribbean cooler flavor. The first taste of it was terrible, but then I added some crushed ice and now I like it. I haven't found anything that gives me the runs or upsets my stomach.

I just ordered and received 3.2 oz vial of 50 g Protein. I haven't tried it yet, I got it for when we are traveling and it seemed easier that mixing a drink. It comes in different flavors. The name of it is Profect protein supplement. 0 cholesterol and 0 sugar. Has anyone tried this yet?

I like the nectar pretty well too, the caribbean cooler did need ice, or I thought it might be good in some crystal lite. I can't drink the vial stuff, I'm a vegetarian and usually they contain non dairy animal products.

Also, the "Protein Drunks" title gave me a chuckle...biggrin.gif

I like the Premeir brand. It is 11oz and 30g of Protein, 1 g of sugar. Other Protein Drinks made me have diarrhea like you mentioned. I found out that I can't handle any products with soy in them. It's very hard to find a Protein Drink or bar with no soy and that tastes good! Good luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
