Hello Everyone
My name is Cait and I am very new to all of this. I have been monitoring this site for several weeks but I guess a little afraid to contribute. I have to say this site has been extremely instrumental in helping me through some of the rough spots in realizing we all experience similiar things. I always joke and say I literally have been overweight my entire life because my two older brothers and I weighed over 10 lbs at birth!! LOL
I guess looking back at pictures I looked great but always felt heavy because I developed earlier than most of my friends who barely weighed 100lbs entering high school. But my weight is a result of genetics but finding comfort in food. Food has been my best friend and enemy all at the same time. I always say that food addiction is a complicated addiction to have because we have to eat to survive but it also our drug. Crack addicts have to stop and cannot touch it again to remain in recovery. I /We have to stop over eating but still have to use food to survive.
I remember hitting 200 lbs over 10 yrs ago and thinking OMG I cant believe I am a 200#er so you can imagine my surprise after many yo-you diets hitting over 250!!!! I had my sleeve nov. 8 2010 weighing 253 day of surgery. This morning I was 212. I am really hoping to make it to my goal of 150. But I really am glad to have this forum for support.
:)
