I remember on the second or third day after surgery I wondered what the heck I had just done but by the next day it was better and I have never looked back or regreted it for 1 moment since. I was a cash pay and it has been worth every penny. I have so much more energy. I've gone from a size 20W to a 10. It's really been a great journey.

I had sleeve surgery December 15 and am still amazed I did it. It is a drastic measure to be sure but I have damaged my body severely and waited a long time until I was sure the sleeve procedure was for me. 3 weeks out, I am comforted that I have another chance to get my life back. I'm 57 and started out around 500 lbs at 6 feet 1 inch which makes me super obese. The weight is dropping fast and hunger pains are fleeting. No regrets except I waited so long to do it.

Great question my surgery is in 2 days...............yikes but I never doubted that this is what I wanted it sounds sill but when I was in Dubai about 3 years ago I bought a beautiful dress and just couldn't quite do the zip up and thought if I loose a bit I will get into it..............yeah right..........so every time I look at the dress I think of the insentive of getting into it so taking it with me to hospital and will hang it up where I can see it and it will remindme why I did the surgery and before I know I will be wearing it thats how I will keep my spirits up I know it sounds silly but thats me. There are some very nice supportive people here and thanks for anyone who contacted me please add me as a friend if you want I will be keeping my blog updated the hospital has wifi good luck everyone.

I don't regret it a bit -- I was really scared and worried there was something wrong a couple of days post surgery, but it all cleared up (as does most people's concerns) and I haven't looked back yet! I love that I only desire food when I need to eat. I love that my life doesn't revolve around whether I am too fat to do something.

Like others, my only regret is that I only wish I had done it sooner -- my children are college aged and teenagers -- I wasted a lot of time I could have spent with them . . . .

I have ABSOLUTELY no regrets!!! I am happier than I have ever been, and for the first time in my life, I am not embarrassed by how I look. This is worth more than silver and gold put together. We're not talking about being a beauty queen here, I just mean that I am not ashamed of myself any more... AND I am only 5 weeks out.

There are moments when I get scared that this surgery will somehow 'reverse itself,' and the amazing shrinking effect disappear... but then I get real and realize that its a new life for me.

Only happiness... the pain and nausea and inability to eat big amounts of food is nothing compared to feeling normal!

I have a regret.... that I didn't know about the sleeve before, and didn't have it done sooner!

I love it, it has given me a new life, and I am still amazed when I weigh each week and the scales are still showing a loss....normally on would be gaining by now on a normal diet! I'm down to a UK size 12, my husband can't keep his hands off me, and I get complimented nearly everytime we go out by people we meet who knew me before......

Money well spent!!!

Good luck.

Same, Sparkle. I wish I would have known about this surgery in my teens or twenties. OH how my life would have changed. I have always had a great business mind and I fall into leadership positions but was scared to go to the big business school around here because you have to dress up in business attire everyday as it counts for a grade. To do that while obese would have been way to expensive and I know I have faced prejudices in the work place for my weight. Not only has the sleeve given me hope for being healthier. Next year I am applying to business school.

just wondering if any one that has had the sleeve regrets having it done!!! i hope to have lost my weight and be ready for surgery around first of feb!!!!

Hi there, like Diva said most of us probably had fleeting moments. . . but i'll be honest. . I really hated my sleeve for a good 3 months or so. . . but here is the reason, you are expected to change your lifestyle, eating habits and drinking habits literally overnight. . .you are expected to relearn everything you have been doing wrong to change overnight. . .it's really tough, you are so used to eating really fast, gulping drinks, etc and suddenly your tummy is taken away and you can't do it. . you have to eat slow, chew very well, sip like a proper lady, for me it was 47 years of bad habits to change NOW. . . but you learn as you go, yes you mess up and it hurts but like any learned behavior you eventually learn that eating too fast or drinking too fast or whatever hurts, so you don't want to hurt so you slow down. . .you eventually learn to recognize that "i better not even think about another bite" feeling and you stop. . .it's a learning thing and like any learning thing it's tough. . . you still have to watch what you eat, Proteins first, veggies, next and if (IF) there is room, starches. . . you will learn not to drink with the meals, but 30 minutes after the meals. . .it's a constent learning thing. . .but you'll get it, just like the rest of us. . .I'm out 1 year now and at this point am really glad I had this thing done. . .I know I would have never been able to do it on my own. . . I have struggled and hated it, but now am so used to it, it's second nature. . you'll get there too. . . good luck ! You'll do just as fine!

Very difficult the first 3 weeks and I questioned my decisions but now I am over 2 months out and this sleeve really works! It has given me hope, control over my hunger and the ability to make good choices. Whittled down 37 lbs so far. In my opinion, the removal of the actual stomach and the hormones is why it is superior to the other surgeries. I feel that these are the tools that will make the difference in maintenance. Maintenance is my biggest concern and goal.

I'm only 10 days out and honestly not a single regret! I've lost 19 pounds since starting pre-op diet on 12/22. There have been a few moments of pain, but it was really more discomfort. I had surgery on Tuesday & was back at work (high school teacher) on Monday. This week has been a little more difficult, mainly because I get tired about 1/2 way through the day. Seems like Wednesday I was hurting a little more than usual by the time I hot home. As long as liquids are room temp, I'm okay & absolutely zero hunger. Sometimes smelling or seeing a food makes me wish I could eat, but there's no hunger so it passes quickly!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
