Thanks guys -- there are a lot of VSGers out there on YouTube including me -- for me, it's another way to make myself accountable and to kinda capture how I'm doing *that* day . . . speaking of which, I gotta do one today, I'm a day late! yikes! blink.gif

biggrin.gif Julie - I love your videos and as since I am pre-surgery It has helped me understand a bit about the emotions, challenges etc that I have ahead for me. You have been a mentor to me (and you may not even know that!). So thank you for sharing your personal journey with us!

Kim

Thanks so much Kim -- you really don't know how much that means to me -- so many people have been so helpful to me that I thought that I might be able to give back in a small way. Thanks and big hugs!

Just watched your latest Julie! I always enjoy watching your videos!

I admit to being a bit dense when it comes to youtube, but I didn't see the makeup link. I'm sure it's there and my brain and eyes are not connecting to see it. I used to never wear makeup, but a few years ago I went back to work part-time and decided it was worth it on work days. Then I decided I'm worth it all the time (there are still days however, when I go au natural.) So I don't consider myself a makeup junkie (my routine is about 5 minutes in front of the mirror) but I'm always interested in new tips and techinques!

Hey there Julie! I sat and watched all of your videos about 3 weeks ago (when I was 1 week post op and needing inspiration) and loved every one of them.

I will be catching up on all of your new videos a little later today.

Thank you so much for being so open and discussing even the minor things. Most people skip over so much and I truly enjoy how you talk about little details.

There have been a few other people that I have followed on You tube but your videos are BY FAR my favorite. :-)

Again I just want to say thank you and I look forward to catching up later today.

~Bonnie

(I need a little inspiration again as I want to start my own Vlog but haven't gotten up the nerve to to it yet... haha)

I've become somewhat of a "youtube stalker" for VSG patients. I swear it's not as creepy as it sounds. I've just found that whenever I'm lacking confidence about my upcoming surgery it helps to watch other people who have been there!" One of my favorites is Maryposa1978. She's been really informative and updates every week as well. I recently started my pre-op blog, but I really feel self conscious because my face looks so fat in my laptops webcam...lol.

Just put up my latest vlog on YouTube -- I skipped a week due to traveling, etc. so just wanted to let folks know I hadn't disappeared! :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
