Do you ever wish you just had a hug?

Recommended Posts

Boy I do. It seems like this has been a week from hell. Everything is going great with surgery. I've got everything bought and paid for and flight plans and tickets it is something else.

I've been marred to a great guy for 25 years and we do argue like anyone else and he's been all for this. He says there's something up with me the last couple of days and I do just feel so distant to the world and just go off and cry and I don't know why. Well, tonight he started the yelling and screaming and told me I could just go to Mexico by myself. (I'm hoping he didn't mean it). I am not normally depressed or take anything for that but just since planning this I seem to be getting some sort of like panicking feeling at the drop of a hat. Just wished I had a big ole hug, you know.

Sorry for being such a whiner but I do consider you guys family and thought if I talk about it it would help.

Thanks guys,

Sherri:(

:) :girl_hug: :girl_hug:

It is normal to be stressed out and nervous. This is the biggest step you have ever taken in your whole life! You will never be the same again... you will be better!

Try to talk things out with your dh. Let him know you need his support and appreciate him going through this with you.

Your doing so great on your weight loss. Some one should be hugging you.

Congrats, that's fabulous. Maybe one day I'll be doing as well too.

Thanks for your hug. I really needed one. Husbands can be harsh sometimes.

You are going to take a big step to change not only you but your whole world and that includes your Husband. He might be stressed too..

Take care and best wishes.

awe Sherri, (((((((((HUGS)))))))))

As nervous as YOU are - I bet your guy is dealing with his own issues over all of this. Surgery alone is a big deal, and going to Mexico for it brings it to another level of stress.

Hang in there.

It'll all be over before you know it.

Sherry, were all with you on this.:) He probably is a little anxious himself. My hubby has been cranky this week too. - My band date is the 20th. Come to find out, hes worried about problems during the surgery and even the risk of dying! Even though he understands the risks of banding are low, he has let these thoughts creep in to his mind. Sometimes men just show their concern in a little different way. Your DH may not even realize he is stressing over your surgery.

Take care

It sounds like perfectly normal pre-band jitters or emotionality. I had them as well...sort of depressed and emotional. I even had it after banding. There are alot of emotions tied to food.

Keep talking to your husband and tell him what you told us. You might get that hug after all!!!

Shawn

Sherri~

Sounds like you're going through what most of us did shortly before our surgeries. It's normal...this is a huge change and change is scary, even when it's good. Consider yourself hugged...hope you're feeling better. Just hang in there and it'll get better. I'll be thinking of you...

Yup, just openly communicate all this with your husband. I betcha he is completely stressed out too and is just really worried about ou having surgery. Yes, even tho he supports your decision and agrees with it, he would still be worried about his "love" going under in surgery (I know my husband was)...and so he is probably being pushesd to the limit and this is the way his "concern" is being manifested.

Just a thought.

I was so nervous, too. I had to go to Mexico by myself! Go make up with hubby. Tell him you are sorry and make him King For The Day. He'll go with you...

You guys are the VERY best. I don't think I could go through all of this without your support. I have very little support here at home and my DD is giving me fits. Thanks for putting up with ALL my questions. I am sure that sometimes you guys get tired of answering them but I feel like you guys are my extended family and once I make it through this I hope I can answer as many questions as someone wants to throw at me.

Thanks again,

Sherri:clap2:

I know that before my surgery I felt a little disapointed in myself because I was having to have surgery. I thought why couldnt I just have done it on my own. But now the only regret is that I didnt have it done sooner. I waisted a lot of years being depressed and obsessing over my weight. This depression you are feeling is normal and you will feel so much better soon. Good luck to you and I am sending you a BIG HUG!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
