dizzy, clammy, pale, help?

Recommended Posts

last night i was getting ready for bed, it was 10 pm, all of a sudden i felt sweaty, dizzy, nausea, weak, my hands and arms went numbe and so I sat down and put my head down and i felt worse, i dont know why this happened now because i had more nutrition yesterday than any day since i had surgery,,,, I had a protien shake with 1/2 banana and a TB Peanut Butter. and a can of tomatoe Soup with 1 can skim milk...i drank these through out the day along with my clear fluids, plus a glass of v8 fusion, ( mixed fruit and veggies..) I felt really good all day, actually better than i have since i had surgery. today i continue to be pale and weak.....Oh, and my pulse was only 45 and my bp was normal, not the first time my pulse has been low since I came home. usually 48-55. but not all the time...this morning it was 80? did this ever happen to anyone else? feeling a little nervous that maybe something is wrong. although i dont have any pain or fever. please let me know what you think.? thanks vicki~~

That's strange that you are pale, dizzy and clammy yet your pulse is low - usually your pulse gets really high in that situation. Normally I'd think of low blood pressure or low blood sugar, but they generally come with a fast heart rate. I don't have any advice other than to give your Dr. a call. Do you know what your pulse is normally? 45 may be normal for you (I get as low as 33 sometimes), in which case the 80 would actually be faster than it should be.

Hi Vicki,

I hope you called you doctor today and what did he say? I'm so sorry you have been feeling so bad. Are you able to eat more food yet? I told my nut that I'm done with Protein shakes that I prefer to not eat anything. She told me I could then have 3oz of soft food (eggs, deli turkey, lowfat cheese, etc.) 3 times a day, which I really can't eat that much but I feel so much better having real food. So maybe you would start to feel better when you can eat more.

Feel better soon, I'm thinking about you,

Janine

I'm glad your feeling a little better, I have not seen the doctor yet, I really need to go but they have the worst hours. I think I lost about 13 pounds as of today. But I think I'm only eating around 300 calories a day, I'm trying to eat more but I get so full. So I would think I would have lost more weight. But I'm not going to stress over it. I have about 100 pounds to lose, I just want to enjoy this phase and try not to worry about the scale so much.

Tak care of yourself, Janine

Great attitude Janine, some one said we go into starvation mode and dont lose so much, maybe that is what it is, 300 cal. is so limited, hope you get an appt soon. take care vicki~~:)

Your symptoms sound almost like dumping syndrome. Maybe check the sugar content in your drinks? I would def. call your doc., too! I am glad you are feeling a bit better today!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
