Revision is getting closer!!!

Recommended Posts

I had my endoscopy today and next week I will meet with my doctor to get a date! While waiting for my endoscopy (which took forever due to some delays), I met a few people who had also had complications with their bands. It made me feel so at peace with my decision to go with the sleeve. What was I thinking getting this foreign object in my body??? Just wanted to share how excited I am! Thanks to all those who have shared their revision journeys. I will share mine as well when the time comes.

Congrats!!! It is totally "freeing" not to have the band anymore. I never realized how much it controlled my life and day to day routines.

YOU will definitely enjoy the sleeve.....it is awesome!!!!!

Good luck on your upcoming revision surgery. You're making a fantastic choice with the VSG and I'm sure you'll love life with the sleeve as most of us do. I did not have an EGD before my revision. I probably should have as I had a hiatal hernia that we didn't know about until they got in there. But my doc added it to the list of procedures and fixed me right up (I also had my gall bladder removed at the same time).

Now when I see one of those "example lapbands" that docs have in their offices I can't believe I actually had that much plastic inside my body. They look huge to me now! I certainly don't miss that dang port poking out of my skin or getting caught under my ribs. SO GLAD it's not in there anymore!!!!

Thanks for the supportive comments. I had to have the endoscope because my band was too high and my doctor wanted to verify a slip. Luckily, I don't have erosion. I can't wait to have my lapband OUT!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
