My insurnace is requiring a three month supervised exercise program with an exercise therapist.

Does anyone know EXACTLY what the insurnace is wanting. And I mean, I know it states three months but what would they be happy with? A couple days in Oct, a couple days in Nov, and a couple days in Dec.

Anyone been through this before?

I just got approved thru aetna today. I had to meet with a physical therapist three times. She had me log exercise 3 times a week for the 3 months. I had to walk 20-30 minutes 3 days a week. My surgeons office set me up with the dietician and physical therapist. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions let me know. I was confused at first.

I have to meet w/the PT once/mo for 3 consecutive mos and just fill out a form which indicates what I do for exercise and what my goals are for the next month (regarding exercise). That's it. Pretty simple.

I am doing my appts thru a weight loss institute and they have on staff the PT, Nut, NP and Psych, so whenever I go in to see my Nut, they schedule the PT at the same time.

Well my problem is is can I count October as one of my "months" now? I am going to see an exercise therapist next week so I will technically only exercise only about 2 days in October...

Also in Nov and Dec I only plan on going about twice a week because it's a fairly long drive...

I mean it's a fairly long drive to my hospital's fitness center where I will be doing my exercise.

They are making you go to their facility to work out? I only had to meet with them once a month and log my exercise. I met with the dietician and physical therapist on the same day for 3 months. It sounds like the place you are going through is different from what I did. Have you seen the dietician yet?

I haven't gone to the nutritionist yet. I have an appointment coming up soon. They are not making me go to the hospital's facility I do have a choice on where to go as long as it's with a physical therapist or other qualified professional. I called around today and found a woman that has a Water aerobics business and she's right down the road from where I live so I am wondering if she could document everything for me. I called Aetna today and they said bascially every time I work out they need it to be documented on what type of exercise I did and all that good stuff. I mean, I have been exercising ALL October on my own. I walk about 30 minutes a day and do 50 crunches. I wonder if I saw an exercise therapist and told her about this I wonder if she could document that for my first month of October and then just see her once in Nov and once in Dec....hmm? I don't know. I'm just freaking out about what EXACTLY the insurance is wanting for documentation.

Honestly the first meeting with the nutritionist will start your 90 days. Start the exercise part the same week that you see the nut. Also get your dr office to right a note stating what your weight was in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Aetna will require 2 years weight history. My dr office said that I was a patient and my weight 03/08 was 243 and my weight 04/09 was 247. I was approved within 48 hours of the paperwork being submitted.

I saw the nutritionist 3 times and had to call with my last weight at the end of the third month. Logged my food 3 to days a week on the website they gave me to use.

I saw the physical therapist 3 times and had to log my exercise

Pysch eval

Depending on surgeon you may have to do other testing. I had to do a pulmonary test because I smoke. Some require EKG and a endonoscopy. Depends on surgeon.

I was worried the whole time if I was doing it correctly, but I was approved without any issues.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
