Endoscope???

Recommended Posts

My doc says my band has to go since it has slipped and wants me to have the sleeve. He is scheduling me for an endoscope test. Can anyone give me info on this test? Does everyone have to have it or is it just for revisions? Also, is the test painful and how long does it last? Just wondering what to expect since I have three kids. :confused1:Thanks!

Hi Becca! I had to have the endo thing. It was fine. They knocked me out, did it and then woke me up. Simple as that...no pain and I was fine. My surgeon made me have it, who knows why, I just did what they said to do, oh the hoops.......and I have not ever had banding or anything. All my info was submitted to ins compay and now I wait and wait and wait. Good luck to you and do not be fearful of the test. Its really nothing to worry about. Take care and best of luck! Vicki

Becca-

Vicki is right, the test is a breeze. I've been scoped several times for another medical condition. My understanding that the reason surgeons require endoscopic examination is to alert them to any possible issues with your stomach before sleeving you. In my book that's the sign of a thoughtful, conserative, and cautious doctor...just what we need with these surgeries.

Good luck to you on your journey!

endoscope is easy, they knock you out so you won't remember anything. real easy, you may be tired that day that is about it....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
