Halfway and officially just 'Overweight'!

Recommended Posts

I had my 3 months check up yesterday and also weighed in at home today at 173.75lbs, so now officially am just over half way to my goal of 140lbs, having lost 34.75lbs since beginning of pre op diet and 50.25 since November 2009 when I started Weight Watchers before making the decision about surgery.

Also my BMI is now 29.7 - I have never been happier to be officially fat instead of Severely Obese!! I remember the time I saw my Dr write OBESE on my medical records and I was mortified..... and then I went on to gain more weight.....

So, bring it on........ I'm aiming for 140lbs, although when I get to 147lbs my husband will quit smoking, and if stay below it he'll stay non smoking, hence the 140lbs goal combined with input from my Dr about how much he thinks I can loose.

Happy? Oh hell yes!!! :D :D :D

And I'd like to add a huge thank you to all you fellow sleevers out there for the support you've given - its so good to be able to research, and chat things thru both pre and post surgery.

Sparkly you ROCK! Let me be the first to say, wahooooo!:D It really did something to my spirit when I went from fat to obese, like it took away my hope. There was still hope in me when I was fat, hope that I could turn things around. The O word hurts and I am thrilled for you that you have put it behind you! You are faithfully using your tool, congratulations to you!!!!

Congratulations! You're looking and doing great!

I can't weight to also leave the "obese" category for good. I've got a ways to go, however -- but I had more to lose, and I know I'll get there.

Great work!

That is wonderful. You have had such a good outlook being a low BMIer. You had realistic expectations which I think has really helped you. Bravo!

Awsome job!!! And congrats on working in that deal with your husband now you will both be healthier!!

Thanks - I really can't wait for our home to be a non smoking zone - even tho he doesn't smoke in the house, we have ash trays in the garden..... so it'll be a huge ceremony to get rid of them all!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
