FANATASTIC!

I am so happy for you. Don't let the pain (if any) get you down. We all go through it and it is totally worth it. It only gets better! Wishing you the best of success! Take care of yourself. Allow others to pamper you. I'm sure you've done for others, now let others do for you. Milk it for all it's worth (tee.hee). You'll be up and around in no time.

Wow talk about being devoted to your fellow bandmates...I'm sure I'll be whining in bed for at least a week totally milking it purely for effect with DH..lol...anyways CONGRATS!! Get well soon.

Being a new bandster myself (May 16, 2006) I keenly remember how every gas bubble felt like I had a watermelon stuck in my chest! Hang in there and it gets better every day. I was actually in the hospital overnight following surgery on IV pain meds so didn't feel a whole lot for the first day and 1/2.

Believe it or not, in as little as two weeks, you will feel pretty much back to normal!

Keep in touch!

Sherry

Hey guys, just thought i would give an update since i posted same day as surgery, well that night was BAD!!! My pain meds made me have the dry heabes so I couldn't take it, it was a miserable evening, I only had 2 supositories for nasea and I used them during the night. The next day I called the Dr as soon as they opened, they gave me different pain meds and some nasea meds, was better that day, but very uncomforatble, last night I slept well and today I have been up and about quite a bit, I actually just watered the flower bed and pulled a FEW weeds, not many, they were just driving me nuts. Pain hasn't been real bad today, gas has increased but coming out, THANK GOD!!!! I am starving though and my stomache is rumbling like crazy, I had my 1st Protein Shake this morning and I actually hurt for awhile, I may have drank to fast, I had about 3oz in 30 min.... So I am hanging in there but can't wait to have some cream Soups or something with some stubstance. I know this is kind of long but thanks for all your support.

Regina

First contgratulations! There will be ups and downs during the healing phase, but hang it there. In the scope of life, the liquids and mushies stage aren't all that long. And the pain after surgery will also subside. The third day is the hardest and then it gets better. I'm one month post-op and still gassy. Embarrasing, but so? Keep in posting and reading. You're pretty normal.

Hi Regina,

Congrats on your surgery. I got banded last Tuesday. Just a little sore still and a bit tired. Already down 5 lbs. Feel good. Good luck!

Congratulations on the surgery and you're doing the best thing you can... getting up and moving to move the gas out. Each day gets a little better so make sure you get plenty of rest and keep yourself hydrated.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
