Kaiser So Cal --- I changed my

Recommended Posts

PCP today to the doctor that is over the Options departments. He is accepting new patients. I did this because I will feel comfortable with a doctor who knows the changes I will endure for the rest of my life. He may even not be around for that long, but at least I can be at ease knowing there is a doctor who will understand what I've gone through and stay on track. Am I wrong for changing? My current physician is very dry natured (sp) and seems that she cares, but I can never tell.

Which Kaiser is he at? I think that is a brilliant move and if I can I'd love to do the same.

Boo! I am in Santa Clarita. I will call the options program out here and see if any of theirs are accepting new patients. I am so glad you posted this as your game plan.

Thanks

Boo, I knew when I typed it you were NOT coming wayyyyyyyy down here.

If you know the doctors name who signs off your Options to referred you to your next steps, look his name up in the "clinical staff directory" of Kaiser's website (if this is the insurance you have) and type his name in and the name will come. Usually their picture is there and a lil something about them along with the icon mentioning accepting new patients. Lol. Good luck to you.

Hi, I have Kaiser but was rejected by the for the sleeve because my BMI was not high enough it was high 36s and no diabetes so I had to be self pay. I'll ask my friend who did the options about the doctors there and will call them on Tuesday when they are open. I imagine it can only benefit us to have a PCP who knows what issues we may get down the line.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
