OH MY GOSH! This Friday! 6/9/06

Recommended Posts

I found out yesterday that my insurance is not going to cover my surgery and I'm so mad because I have wasted six weeks. I was planning to self pay and then had a thread of hope for the insurance..anyway...I called Dr. Spivak's office this morning (Tues.) to see when I could get scheduled and they had a cancellation for this Friday (6/9) and I'm on the schedule! I am so excited and scared all at once.

Please say a prayer for me if you're so inclined or at least keep me in your positive thoughts. I am going to be 60 in September and this is my present to me. My primary doctor says this should add an additional ten years to my life and trust me, I've got lots of livin' yet to be done.

This is one excited Grandma!

Barbara,

Are you me? Your handle is close to mine. I will be 60 in September and one excited Grandma! I am scheduled for Tuesday, but insurance may hold me up for a week. I was scheduled with Spiegel, but he dropped UHC as primary so I had to find another doctor. Glad you got yours scheduled and your ready to go.

Most of my postings have been on the June 2006 thread.

My surgery was as uneventful as one could expect. I am so glad it is over. I slept most of yesterday and now at 4 a.m. Saturday, I am wide awake. My pain has been minimal with no pain meds yet. I'm not so naive as the think it's all over.

I have only had Water and chicken broth with no problems with either.

I had some major vertigo during the night. Hopefully that is done. Makes me afraid to get on my feet....fear of falling head over heals.

Thanks for eveyone's thoughts and concern. It's been a major help to have others watching out for you even though we've never met.

I'm so glad your surgery went well. I'm scheduled for 06-14-06 and I am excited and nervous all at the same time. I will keep you in my prayers and I wish you the best with your band!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
