3 Week freakout (post-op)

Recommended Posts

Hang in there guys (and gals)! I am two months out and a "slow" loser, but the scale eventually moves. I stalled at about 2 1/2 weeks out through about 4-5 weeks out. The weight trickled off. Then, bam, a few pounds at once, stall, another few pounds. YOu will figure out your losing patterns soon enough. I can eat a lot more than most, so I have to careful to measure (not weigh) my food. Also, I added in a few "good" carbs (high fiber) to help with the "poo" issues. That, and coffee, keep me regular.

OMG I was just researching this exact question. After 3 weeks I'm stuck and I'm having the right amount of good Protein, over 64 ounces of Water, etc. Following everything I was told, I just got cleared to exercise so I started strength training and nothing. Granted I only went to the bathroom 4 times in 4 weeks. But 600-800 calories and no scale movement really got to me today and depression/anxiety can wreak havoc. I'm not happy others have the same but to not be alone is a relief. I was like I am doing something wrong or I failed again.

This thread is really old but some new folks say they are having similar issues so I will reply. The three week stall is so common. It can honestly happen before or after but usually it’s right around three weeks. If you do a search on this site you will see how often it is talked about. Rest assured. The weight loss will pick back up. Just stick to your plan.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
