gastric sleeve plication

Recommended Posts

Glad to hear you are on the mend, and doing well. Yes, I too had a really hard time with Water intake. I am not sure how normal it is, but try to get in as much as you can. I added some Crystal Light to mine as that is the only way I could tolerate water. It felt like rocks going down at first. I am now 2 weeks post op, and I find myself thirsty and reaching for a bottle of water. It will pass, along with all the other hardships............. 2 weeks, and down 14 lbs, so it is all worth it in the end!! Penny

I just had the new procedure called "gastric sleeve plication" I am 21 days post op. It was quite difficult to find much information on this since it is so new. I am very pleased with my results, surgeon, and overall experience. I would be happy to share information with anyone considering "plication" My surgeon was Dr. Corvalas in T.J. Mexico. I am down 14 pounds at this point. No problems whatsoever.

Check out the complications forum. Before my surgery all I saw was how good this was and how wonderful. Funny after the operation is when I learned of all the people with complications. I had bad complications too. i am 16 days post op and still am wondering if I did the right thing. 70% of the time I wish I never did it. I hope that changes with time. It changes your life big time,,and not always for the better.

I am 10 months post-op, and let me tell you what. Yes you are hungry, the longer I go into this the more I realize, that yes, they do shrink your stomach size, but they do not do anything with hunger pains, so of course you still want to eat, and eventually your stomach will start to enlarge, yes I eat alot less but it still isn't the easy fix, I would have liked, but let me say something else, I am a drinker, and I know that doesn't help at all. That's my fault and no one elses'. Yes it's nice there, they don't speak alot of english, but they were accomodating!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
