Recommended Posts

I'm going for my second fill tomorrow even though I only got my first one 5 days ago. I feel NOTHING and my doc said to come back in if I didn't feel even a twinge!

So I'm excited to get my 2nd one and START this journey!!!

It's great you're getting your second fill so soon. I got my first one a week and a half ago and feel nothing but my MD won't give me another for 6 weeks... that's July 6. Let us know how the second fill goes.

Okay, so had my 2nd fill today.

The nurse poked me 4-5 times with no luck; she couldn't "get it". ;) It was getting quite painful.

Fortunately, one of the docs was on his way in...so I waited for him for about 20-30 mins and then he gave it a go. He even had to try 2 or 3 times. He finally got it but only after I stood up (instead of lying down). It was much more unpleasant this time due to all the poking/prodding.

Anyways, they put in 2 more ccs...for a total of 7 now. So hopefully THAT will do the trick. Mind you...once again I was able to swallow my whole bottle in about 10 mins and I felt nothing!

Doc said if I still don't feel anything after a few days that they will check and see if all 7 is in there. He said there is a small chance that perhaps the first 5 didn't go in???!!! (I hope it did!).

Anyways...alls well that ends well (knocks on wood).

Yikes! It sounds like that second fill was a nightmare and I hope you get some restriction with it. I am curious as to why the MD did not aspirate to see what amount was in there before he injected more. I hope you're not too sore.

That sounds really painful Yoda:hug: .

My docter says he wont give me my first fill until I go 3 weeks without losing. I dont want to go 3 weeks without losing, oh well.

Having my first somewhat normal meal today....mashed carrots(yum) and mashed BBQ chicken(?who'd a thunk it).

Did anyone take a long time to master the new habit of chewing things to death. I'm having a hard time. I'm starting to wonder if I ever chewed anything at all. It kinda just goes down my throat before I know it. Then I panick thinking I'm gonna throw up.

That is what he'll do next time. I think he decided against it this time because I was already so full of lil' holes and was starting to swell a bit etc. Plus I was already bruised from it last week (I bruise easily) so it prob looked worse than it actually was.

Yup, me too Cloe. Plus I'm finding it difficult to talk while eating (not chewing...just eating in general and conversing). Mind you, my husband sees this as a blessing! I"m trying to chew chew chew but it is hard...unfortunately I prob won't do it as well as I should until I have my first PB/Golfball or whatever. Apparently it is inevitable. That will prob be my wake up call to REALLY try harder to chew to goo.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
