So I'm a week out today and I'm HUNGRY ALL THE DANG TIME!! I've been doing my Gax X and taking my Nexium just like I'm supposed to, but my stomach growls and I think about food constantly. Is this because I'm just used to chewing and haven't had anything to chew in a week? Is this what's called "head hunger"? Dr. Aceves says clears for 10 days post op but I had some egg drop Soup today (hey, it's clear! it just has little tiny pieces of egg in it :thumbup1: and it was pretty darn tasty, but I was able to eat probably 8 oz of it. Any suggestions or advice, or even words of encouragement, would be greatly appreciated :)

It'll get better.

Your stomach nerves have been cut/severed, damaged. You won't get a full signal on liquids, stick to the post-op diet, and you'll feel better soon. Just a few more days until you can get to fuller liquids which help.

Also, the hunger hormone is still in your body and takes time to work it's way out. You'll feel hungry. Don't risk your staple line by cheating. Drink, drink, drink, walk, walk, walk, the Nexium will kick in, the diet will progress. Distract yourself, and know that you'll have foods in the very near future.

I sympathize... my husband and I started our liquid diet we are on day 3 and it has been pretty rough. I was doing pretty well today until someone at work heated up their lunch.. then I had to leave. hehe No sense making it harder! hehe

I will admit that if my other co-workers didn't decide on their lunch plans quickly (and stop talking about options) I was going to smack them all hehe. :)

Tiffy - thanks for the encouragement. If I can keep telling myself it'll get better I think I'll be ok. Only 2 more days till full liquids which means Cream of Wheat which equals heaven in a bowl :)

Papillon - I know just what you mean! My mom made one of my favorite dinners for herself, my daughter and grandson last night and I really just wanted to tell them all to go away. I'll just keep looking forward to the milestone days that I can advance my diet and I'll be ok.

There's no limit on the clears, drink some moe Soup, add some Protein to the soup, it seemed to help me. Get a popsicle, just a little longer and you'll be done. I remember getting up in the night and drinking the broth because I was empty.Hang in there!

So true, cream of wheat super thinned out was really great. Also, yogurt, sf pudding/custards, and creamy Soups made life much better.

Ally! I am starving all of the time too!!! I sent an email to Dr. Aceves' office and they suggested that I start taking the nexium 2x per day morning and evening. It seems to have helped just a little. Egg Drop Soup sounds good, I will have to try that. I told my husband today I am craving a scrambled egg and cottage cheese. Oh how times have changed!!!

I got through it by really pushing clear Protein drinks--isopure plus is a clear. And crystal lite. I only had 3 days on clears post-op, then we moved to full liquids for 10 days, which is where I'm at now. The more protein I get in, the less hunger I have. Hang in there!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
