The Inevitable "I'm Not Losing Fast Enough" Thread

Recommended Posts

Heh. This is why weighing yourself too frequently is a bad idea...

I'm going to see the nutritionist this morning, and they're going to weigh me. So, since I wanted to get my weight before eating Breakfast and drinking a couple of pints of Water and putting on all my clothes (that's a few pounds right there), I stepped on the scale. ARGH... still not below 300 -- 301.0.

The big picture is that I'm still down 14 pounds in 15 days, so I shouldn't complain. It's just that I really, really wanted to be below 300!

ARRRRGG

day 18 without loosing an ounce (lost 13.2 lbs in 14 days after surgery). I have actually gained about 3/4 lb. I follow all th rules.... eat between500 and 800 cals... mostly Protein. I'm really starting to get scared. When I do start loosing is it going to be 1lb a week..... I could have done that and kept my stomach!!!!!!!!! (not really, or I suppose I would have)

GRRRRRRRR.... I know it will all work out but the people that I told I was getting the procedure done must be wondering if I'm "eating around" the sleeve. Its a little embarassing

Well with today's "coming to jebus" moment at the nutritionist -- realizing that I'm eating too much, too fast -- I'm sure that the weight will start coming off faster for me. I'll be going from 1200+ cals per day wolfed down to 800 calories per day chewed slowly and carefully.

Its hard to get used to eating so little. I have to really work on staying busy. I've let food rule my life for so long that I sometimes dont know what to do now that I don't need much of it.

You'll be a real looser for sure now

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
