T-minus 3 days and counting

Recommended Posts

Three more days of waiting and the time is passing so agonizingly slow. I have the final appointment with the Dr. and staff today where I assume they are going to read me the riot act about post-op behavior. Bring it on!! I will do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes, to get rid of this insipid disease. Craftychristie is getting sleeved the same day. Continue to keep us in your thoughts until we can join you on the other side.

Jerry

Three days can seem like forever, but it will pass and you will find yourself sitting on the loser's bench before you know it. I'm scootin over!

Jerry I am really excited for you and Christie (and her hubby). I'm 3 weeks out I can't imagine how nerve wracking it is at 3 days out. Hang in there, you'll do great. You have such a good attitude and desire to do well, which is such a big part of how well you will do. Good luck Jerry.

Thanks for the shout out Jerry!!! I am feeling the opposite of you - that these days are going by FAST! I guess because I have felt like I've had so much to do. Today I bought my Protein Powder from Max Muscle, did some other shopping, had lunch with my sister in law, went to coffee with my dad, got a bunch of stuff from my parents' basement (found some smaller clothes there too which will really come in handy!) oh yeah AND I had to be at the court house this morning for jury duty, which thankfully I got out of. It's been a long day. Tomorrow is my pulmonary testing, my preop tests at the hospital and then my preop appt with the surgeon so I know tomorrow is going to go by fast too! Eeee!

Can't wait to talk to you on the other side!! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
