One week from tomorrow I will be going under, and coming out a different person! I admit, these last two weeks of liquid diet, and sabatoging friends has been a struggle. But I keep coming on here, and reading the wonderful posts and stories, and it keeps me going!! Plus I have the greatest boyfriend who is quitting smoking because I did. He also won't eat at the house so as not to tempt me with the chewy goodness of bad food!!

My sabatoging friends are coming around. I think they realize that I won't "die on the table". They are all just super jealous, and now they are going to have to be the ones to keep up with me!!!

It's amazing, the giving up smoking, diet pop, and the Vitamins they have me on, already make me feel better than I have in years. I can't imagine what I will feel like a few months from now!!!

Look out tummy!! One more week and you will probably be living in some jar on someone's desk!!! Mwah-ha-ha:sneaky2:

Thanks girls!! I actually feel really great!! But I ain't gonna lie....the liquid diet is a killer! But I flavor my plain yogurt with my protien powder, and it's not half bad, but can only have it in moderation! But I did get lucky finding a tasty powder!!! It's pretty pathetic, but I look foward to chewing my Vitamins everyday just for the chewing!!!!! But I would have given in, if not for going back and reading all the threads in here. That and my diet info for after the surgery. Kind of keeps me motivated!!

Coachkk--it gets better after about 3 days. The "starving" sensation does go. I admit, the first day was the biggest struggle. I ate a hoho & a chunk of my daughter's girl cheese because I didn't think I was gonna make it on the broth! But my dr lets me have V-8, and that is definately a life saver!!! Plus, my friends at work say my face already looks thinner!!

I am super excited! It's all I talk about. I'm not ashamed I'm having it done, I want my friends and family to know what I'm going through. That I just couldn't do it on my own, and needed a form of permanent willpower!!!!!

(Now, how do I get my ticker to stay on here???)

Good luck for next week!

Sounds like you have a fab bloke there - after all the years of dieting I think one of the hardest for me is seeing other people eat in front of me....so I can applaud his not eating in front of you, and the comments like 'Go on, one won't hurt'......

I think I shall hole myself up when I get to do my pre op diet!!

Kathy

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
