Quick update from Citygal

Recommended Posts

So i'm 3 /12 weeks out from my band to sleeve revision. Doing pretty well. Trying to powerwalk 2-3 miles 4 times a week...Having a bit of trouble getting enough Protein in but feel good and my energy is pretty high. I'm down 21 pounds and just that amount of weight really is making a difference in how I feel.

Trying to be realistic about weight loss and not just focus on the scale. My internist wants to see me every 6 weeks to just check in. My "cycle" is way off...I was thrown off when I went for the procedure and so I'm feeling some of the "mood" challeges I get this time of month....some cramping.

All my incisions are healing nicely...I now just look like got in fight with a cat...LOL.. I've got lots of business travel coming up so I'm focused on talking care of mysefl while on the road.

Hope everyone is happy and healthy today!

Great job! Especially on that walking!

That's going to be really tough for me. Exercise is going to come very slow but I'm hoping as I lose some weight that my back will be able to take more and I'll be able to walk more.

Up till now, I couldn't even walk around the block or even just stand up at my kitchen sink doing dishes for more than about 5-10 minutes without being in extreme pain.

All I've been able to do so far is walk up and down my driveway several times several times a day.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
