I had my sleeve surgery one year ago today!

It's just been the best year I could imagine. I love not being fat and I have been maintaining at goal for over 6 months.

My last pair of jeans that I bought is a size 6 and the top I bought was a small. I've gone from a 3 X to a SMALL!

I am so glad somebody invented sleeve surgery!:thumbup1::thumbup::biggrin0:

Congrats!!

I am anxious to get to "your stage", but at least now I know I actually have a realistic chance of doing it!

I hope more people learn about the sleeve and have the opportunity to get it. It is an amazing tool!

A 6????!!!! And from a 3x????!!!! Wow! What an inspiration to all of us! It's great to hear that you've had a good year. It's only been 4 weeks for me, and I'm just beginning to get a little energy back--so it's very encouraging to hear your story. Keep up the great work!

Thank you everyone! I hope everyone reaches their goals and is always as happy as I am with their decision to permanently remove the majority of their stomach.

I really envy all those that are getting sleeved so much earlier in their lives but even at 57 years old, I am thrilled not to spend one more year obese.

Yay Sleeve!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
