I was wondering if anyone else experienced this. I am having trouble with Breakfast. In the morning when it's time to eat breakfast or even drink some Water I find myself being very nauseous. I can barely eat anything in the morning with out it coming back up. I can drink water but feel sick when I do. After lunch I don't have this problem. By dinner time I can eat really good and drink also.

If you had this problem and found a solution please let me know.

Thanks

I have this problem at night. It is when I go to take my medicine. I gag and just feel ick. Mornings don't seem to be a problem. Hopefully someone will have some suggestions for us! When it gets really bad, I take a Zofran that I have from when I was pregnant. That has only been a few times though.

Yeppers, even at almost 9 months out, I don't eat early in the morning. I take my Prilosec, wait an hour before even thinking about eating. If I eat before 9am, my sleeve is wreck for the rest of the day. I also hate Breakfast food for the most part, and avoid it at all costs. The only solution I have is to take my Prilosec with a couple drinks of Water, wait 30 minutes and then I have more water, and I wait at least another 30 minutes before eating.

I love hot herbal tea in the morning as well. I take my PPI and make a 16 oz mug of tea and grab 8 oz of Water. I wait awhile before having a Protein shake.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do when I head back to my office full time next week. I guess wake up very early. :)

OMG, I cant believe it, I am not alone in having constant nausea, "especially" in the morning, and the egg thing, seriously; I used to love breakfast, my most favorite meal of the day, but now, UGH scrambled eggs. I get nauseous just looking at them. I am about 2 months out and down 40lbs. Foods that I used to love I cant even look at any more. I guess thats a good thing right?:confused1:

This is pure speculation, so take it for what it's worth. While doing the glucose test for my last pregnancy they determined that I was actually hypoglycemic. I get nauseous and shaky if I go too long between meals. I too was usually like that in the morning. It was, for me anyway, from going too long without food. Maybe you can do the morning sickness diet and have some ginger tea and a couple of saltines when you wake up? It makes me feel a whole lot better.

Sabrina, I agree with you. I need food right away when I wake up and I also figured it was because dinner was so long ago. I grab a Protein Shake (usually Atkins or Nutrilite) or have a bowl of Cereal. I feel much better after getting something into my stomach.

I was fine in the first month - but for the last week I've been nauseous almost all the time... But as with most things, this will pass with time.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
