Hello all. I am just about to hit my 5 week post op and I have a crazy question. My stomach seems to spend all its concentration on trying to be louder than the kids. It seems to have doubled up on its efforts to embarrass me as often as possible. :) The noises are so loud and so often that EVERYONE hears them. When I am in the office at work, it seems to go into overdrive. People have even heard it over the phone!!!

I was wondering if everyone has this issue and if so, when does it start to subside? Is there anything I can do to calm the beast?

Thanks!!!

I am going back to work tomorrow and my throat makes the LOUDEST noises any time I drink anything. It's embarrassing. I am afraid that it's going to happen in a meeting.......Does this go away? Did anyone else have this problem? I had a hiatal hernia repaired so I'm wondering if maybe that has something to do with it.....

My stomach made noised ALL the time when I had the band, but haven't had that problem with my sleeve. It was embarassing at times and loud as well.

You were sleeved on my birthday, one week before me!

Wow, thats crazy. . . i can't relate because all my noises have rather become petite and i'm so much more of a lady now. . . even my burps are dainty, i love it. . .

LOL...my doctor says it is all normal and that it is my body's reaction to everything being moved around so much during surgery. Normal or not, it is embarrassing as heck! Seems worse when I am drinking more and sitting a lot, which of course I have to do at work. I just keep rubbing my tummy and trying not to be too red-faced. I am told that this, like all things, will pass eventually too.

Ok, my stomach seems like there's an orchestra in there! I am about 3 weeks post op and in my "mushi" stage and so this morning I ate some egg beaters, well now it's going all crazy and noisy! I don't feel sick or anything, it's just annoying!!! aghhhh!!! Anyone else have something similar?

Thanks!

Sury

My tummy isn't noisy but is certainly gurgling at times! So far it is when I have introduced a new food.

The burping is most annoying to me : ) I was at my first business lunch yesterday. Fortunately it was all close co-workers and they know about the surgery. I kept a napkin handy to cover the burps but I was afraid they might be worried that I was going to be sick! LOL

Well I am going to say it...tmi but burping was not the only thing that surprised me AND my husband. I never did that in front of him but just could not help it. He would say Babe..... I said WHAT, can't help it. Dr. Aceves gave me high five in the hospital so must be doing something right. It thankfully has gotten back to normal, 3 months out and I can act like a lady again.:drool5:

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
