Thanks guys! Im working on setting a final date and will book my hotel! Im sure the time will fly by!!

Stephanie! Congrats on your decision! I've heard nothing but great things about Dr. Nick. Initially that is who I was going to use, but I too am an out of stater, and although I am 'from Texas' my friend is going to be the one with me and Friday is more convenient. The doctor I am going to, Dr. Davidson will do it on Friday! Dr. Davidson, who is also listed as a 'Top Doc' in Dallas is suppose to be top notch, so I'm happy with my choice too! I'll be there in June, but am headed there for the seminar and some pre-surgery stuff in April...surgery is scheduled for June 11th!!! If you feel like it while you're there, check out a couple of the malls. Dallas has great places to shop, even if you're just window shopping. The Galleria on LBJ Freeway and NorthPark Mall off Central Expressway are fun, fun, fun! Good luck!!!

How exciting, I won't be too far behind you!! My surgery is going to be at Forest Park also. I bet you'll have a nurse named Sandy....she works there, I thought she just worked for Dr. Davidson, but found out she works for the surgery center and for all the bariatric doctors I think! :) I cannot wait to get it over with, I'm having trouble sleeping at night, I wake up and my mind is racing! LOL Are you as ready as I am??!!

Have a great week!

I went to Dr. Nicholsons seminar last year and really liked him. I chose Dr. Jayaseelan to do my surgery, though. I would have used Dr. Nick in a heartbeat, but bc I'm a self pay.. Dr. Jay was a little less expensive and just as qualified. He also uses the Forest Park surgery center. I had my sleeve done 3/23 and they took great care of me there! I will go back there for my Tummy Tuck. Dr. Nick has a nurse practitioner, Sandy who is great...I really really liked her a lot. She will give you her personal phone number and encourages you to call if you need to. She also works with my doctor.

If you're looking for places to stay, you should check out Rockwall, tx. It's a great area and about 15-20 min from forest park.

He is doing my surgery too June 9th. I really liked their office. I found them to be funny, informative, and very caring. Dr. D really knows his stuff.

I really like Sandy. She really does give out her personal number. She got a few calls about patients when I was in the seminar that she took promptly. I am 38 days pre-op and she gave me her number too. Said to call about anything.

There are several hotels right outside of the Baylor Plano hospital. I would be happy to fax you the list that Dr. Nick's staff put in the binder you get when you go in to see him. A family friend was at the Baylor Heart hospital right behind Baylor Plano hospital and was a miracle patient. I am sure she would of died any place else, so I feel that if any problems happen to me while I am there I am in the best of hands.

Best of luck to you in your journey!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
