calling the doc, going in to be seen!

Recommended Posts

the nausea just isnt letting up and i am getting more weak by the day. even when i try to drink the Protein Drinks i got, its not enough to help anything. i will let everyone know what happens and when i can be seen. the reason for not going in before now is that my doc was out of town all last week! he may tell me the same thing as the nurse, but until i hear from him i dont think i will be satisfied! hopefully there is a simple solution here and i can start eating again! as of today i have had zero food since before christmas, with the exception of a small bite of peach or small amount of yogurt maybe once a day!

so i saw the doc today and he informed me that he used a smaller tube, a 34, and that more than likely this is just something that is going to take time. the nausea and whatnot. but to play it safe he is sending me for a upper gi in the morning. we will see...

Good luck tomorrow Hope! I hate that you have to wait overnight to get an answer. That's tough. Take care of yourself and let us know how it turns out.

Hope, I'm so glad you got in to see the doctor.

I've read so many posts where the doctor used a 32. I know mine told me he'd be using a 40. I'm so sorry you're in so much discomfort!

I'm glad you were able to get in today. I wanted to share that my sleeve was made with a 32fr boughie, and with my complications, my sleeve is actually shorter than most sleeve patients. They had to remove a little more of the top portion of the stomach during my leak repair because the band had damaged so much of my stomach tissue.

I also suffered with lots of nausea, and was on Zofran for awhile until my stomach was ready to work on it's own. I'm really glad you are getting the upper gi, and hopefully you get some answers quickly.

what a horrible experience today was! i nearly passed out while drinking the solution used in the test and we had to stop so i could settle down! i had to drink more stuff but got to lay down so it wasnt as bad. when the lady was doing the second part i got to watch, which was cool, and there didnt appear to be any leaks or obstructions! but she did say that my upper small intestine looked irritated. after it was over i thought i was done and lost it. that stuff i drank did not want to stay down! i came home and slept for 5 hours lol... i hope to hear from the doc tomorrow! thanks for all the support from everyone!

Hope: I'm glad there were no leaks. Hopefully your small intestine will get better soon!

I really hope you start feeling better soon. Keep us posted. Maybe being admitted for some IV fluids would allow for your intestines to heal, and get you hydrated. I know being hospitalized sucks, but you gotta take care of yourself.

Get some rest, and let us know what the doc says.

Hope I was just asking about you in the chat room tonight.I miss having you come in and chat with us!

I hope you get some answers. It would seem there has to be a reason for all this nausea. Hopefully, if nothing else, he can give you some medication for it!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
