Hey chickee. . .

Surgery is fast approaching, and I wanted to post here just to give you a little boost of confidence. I hope you are doing well, and remember I'm just a text, phone call or email away.

I've been slow on emails because my IPhone needs to be updated. But, my texting is back up and running.

I hope the pre-op diet is going well for you. If you need anything, let me know.

I'm cheering for you from the sidelines ! ! !:w00t:

Wisconsin_Gal, where are you from?

I'm from Green Bay and am going to be getting the sleeve done on April 15th by Dr. Kemmerling here in Green Bay. He is from NEW Surgical Associates.

Your post looks to be from December. Did you have your surgery? Was it done here in WI? How are you doing?

I'd love to talk especially if you had the work done here! :)

Kara,

I am back to lurking. I haven't had a lot to say lately.

I live close to Platteville, WI and I had my surgery done in Dominican Republic late December 09. To date I have lost 40 lbs

If you would like someone to talk to, I would welcome the opportunity to help out a fellow sleever-to-be.

Hi ladies, another WI girl here! Hope all is going well for both of you!! We should all get together and go shopping when we get to goal!!

Where are you located? I'm in central WI. I'm four months out, 3.5 lbs from my surgeon's goal. I plan on losing a little more, but not much, 5 - 7 under what he set! I am sure you are at goal now. What are you doing to maintain Stacie?? I'd love some hints!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
