I went to visit my mom this past weekend for an early Thanksgiving, and I found my senior prom dress (from 1995). I tried it on and not only did it fit, it was a bit loose! That was kind of cool for me.

I'm down 77 pounds and still have 85 to go, but I am so THANKFUL for this surgery. What a wonderful change it has brought to my life. :001_rolleyes:

How neat is that! That must have made your day! I will love the day that I can actually fit into some of my smaller clothes, especially my smaller uniforms, I used to wear a L (now 3X) so to be able to get back into L's will just be the biggest NSV for me!:001_rolleyes:

It really is so much fun. The gift of wearing normal sizes is so wonderful.

I have been taking ball room dance classes. I quickly noticed that none of the women that go to the dances are in the least bit overweight.

These dance classes have opened up a whole new world for me. People who are not overweight and never have been, do not understand at all

what we go through.

Daisy, do you like the dance classes? I've been wanting to try it.

Well, a month after I posted this, those numbers have changed again and I'm just thrilled!

My previous post was 77 pounds down, 85 to go, and now it's 85 down and 77 to go! I'm over the hump there! I weigh on Mondays and I was really surprised with the numbers today because I haven't been exercising much at all.

Ash, that is G R E A T!!!!! Come to the Monday morning weigh ins thread. I love it there. I have stopped weighing myself 4 and 5 times a day finally. Now if I can just get to only once a week on Mondays I will be happy. Workin on it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
