Age 60+ before & after pictures?

Recommended Posts

I have two women friends in their mid 60's who are wanting to have lap-band surgery. One has about 75 pounds to lose, the other 150 pounds. If I could show them some before and after pictures of people who are close to their age and have managed to lose a fair amount of weight, I know it will give them a huge boost of confidence!

:help:

How about it....any over 60 losers (before and after pictures) you're willing to share? Pleeeeease

Thanks much!

Pam

I don't have pix but just a vote of confidence. I had surgery at age 61 with a heart condition and sev. other co-morbidities......I did great, continuing to do great, feel great. My fill dr (who did my pre-op testing) said he had patients who had surgery as old as 75 who had done very well and lost both pounds and years!!

Carlene,

You were beautiful before and even more beautiful now! Wow, you do not look a day over 45!

DVSABoss,

I hope that you will get lots of pictures to encourage your friends!

I am 62 and would'nt take for my lap band. I needed to loose 70 pounds and now its only 50 so I will do pictures when I am finished. Out 1 month tomorrow.I can really tell it in my tummy, face and clothes. I have gotten rid of 20 inches also. I love that also. Tell them to go for it. I just wish this had been around a long time ago. I did'nt even hear about it until

Dec. 05. Just got tired of fighting it so hard.:)

Thank you all for replying, I will share these with my friends. They were really excited when I told them people had replied. They need as much encouragement as they can get. It's a pretty scary step for them!

I just had to say how fantastic Carlene looks for 56! I would have guessed 38 - 45yrs. You look wonderful!

I will be 60 tomorrow! I will be sharing my pictures but since I was only banded 3 weeks ago, there isn't much yet to show. I have lost 21 lbs (but 10 since surgery). I can't see any differnce yet, but I sure can feel it in my feet when I walk.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
