My 12's are way too big & I can slide them on and off without unbuttoning them. I bought some 10's from Goodwill & they fit, but I didn't like the way they fit me. So, I've still been wearing my 12's even though they are falling off of me & I look like a teenager who is trying to "sag"! :lol0:

Night before last, we stopped at Old Navy to check out their clearance sale. DH really wanted me to buy a new pair of jeans & to be honest, I wanted a new pair that fit as well. So I took 10's into the dressing room (praying they would fit, if not I probably would have cried!). They fit okay. They were a bit loose in the legs so I asked dh to go get an 8...he looked at me with the "this could go terribly wrong" face, you know the deer in headlights look! (I love my dh & he knows me oh so well!) I said, I just want to see how close I am to fitting in a single digit size. He hesitantly obliged. :(

I get them on expecting them to either not button or for me to have to cease breathing to get them buttoned. :laugh0: To my surprise, they went right on! They fit "like a glove"! They weren't too tight in the waist or too loose in the legs. For the first time, I have jeans that I am comfortable wearing. It's a thing of beauty! They cost $34.50, but they were so worth it.

Thanks, Vegas. I know it sounds vain, but I really wanted to get into a single digit size. It's great to know I'm there.

Yes, my dh is wonderful. He was scared of how I would react if the 8's didn't fit. :( I was already having a tough day...the look on his face when I requested the 8 was priceless. I wish I had a camera.

Awww! I remember your DH from Mexicali. What a sweet guy!

CONGRATULATIONS JENN!!! All those days of yucky liquids and gagging on eggs is WORTH IT FOR A SIZE 8!!

I'm in a 10 but anxious to try an 8. None of my clothes fit at all. I'm down to wearing loose gym shorts. (And freezing, even if it's San Diego.)

I still have some 10's that fit me, just dont' fit the way I like. I think Old Navy jeans run a bit bigger...but I don't care, the tag still says 8! :( If you're near an Old Navy, it might be worth trying on some jeans. You might be surprised!

FWIW, I'm cold all the time now, too. I used to never wear a jacket. Now I need a sweater/sweatshirt, thermals, & a coat!

Fitting into a size 8 is one of my goals. I think I might be finally in a Misses 14. Everything at LB is just a bit too baggy. I plan to go to the mall tomorrow to check it out. I might have to swing into Old Navy.

Congratulations Jenn! It has to be a WONDERFUL feeling.

Thank you all. You all are too sweet. It's great to have friends to share this with...only my family IRL know about my surgery, so I can't exactly share my NSVs.

My font is bigger than your font! (nothing personal ) Seriously, yours is smaller...take a look!

Are you sure you are looking at mine or someone elses?

And to me they are all the same size! Isn't that odd?

That is wierd. Yours is about four times as big as mine, and it is in purple. do you see that on your screen?

It may be that each person's is set in their user CP area, so it reads differently based on how you set it. I did change mine to a larger font when I first started using the forum.

Now I clicked on the "A" up in the right hand corner and selected a huge font/

Now I clicked on the double A in the left hand corner at the top that says remove formatting. Let's see what this looks like posted....

This is wierd...when I am reading the forum this all looks black and small. But in this editing box it is the larger, colored version that I selected in User CP. I don't understand why.

testing one two three

I went into user CP and at the bottom of the page, select default text formatting.

You can change your font, size, color, etc there...

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
