Power plate, vibration plate

Recommended Posts

Power plate is a fantastic machine ; 10 min exercise is claimed to equal one hour in the gym. It does not require active movements, can be practiced even when fatigued. It can move and vibrate many muscles in the body including back and tummy muscles. It is claimed to be anti-osteoporosis and increase the venous circulation as well.

Do not jumb on the machine after food or drink

This is not an ad. It is a way I found useful to tone your muscles even if you are weak. You can give it a try in a Gym or in sports shop; then judge for yourself.

Interesting, I will have to check it out - sounds interesting - might be a nice alternative now and again. Thanks:biggrin0:

I have heard mixed reviews regarding this machine. But, I would be open to trying it once.

if it really worked that well wouldn't the gym's carry it?or curves? It is really expensive and I do not want any more crap in my home. Trying to downsize. I would go to a gym and work out. Gets me out of the house.

It is not expensive . I bought a taiwanese machine called "crazy fit message" for about $500 only. The original american power plate is worth of $15,000 which is suitable for hotels and big gyms.

drmed :ok so you buy it on the cheap and now you have this big machine in your home. SO? does it work? What are the stats?

The machine is not that big. It is a plate enough to stand on. It can fit in any corner. IT is nice to tune many muscles at the same time especially in the odd days that there is will for a treadmill or other exercises. It also can give you the feeling of chair massage or back rub! It also can be used as a warm up before proper exercise.

To avoid harm the joints; don't lock your knees while standing, always bend them a little. Every move or turn of the legs or waist , you will feel the vibration moving to another muscle.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
