These are great - and so inspiring! Thanks for posting them. My NSVs of late are:

Getting a massage (I do two a year) and discovering I fit on the table without tucking my hands under my thighs to keep them from falling off the table!

Noticing that even after a ton of extra steps today, my knees don't hurt at all going up stairs!

Jewelry is better - rings I couldn't wear for years now fit (wedding ring included!) and necklaces that were too short and felt tight are now just right.

Another NSV I'm sure shared by many.... I went to my 3 month post op appointment on Friday. I was pulling into the parking lot at 1:57 and my appointment was at 2. It's a bit of a hike into the building (it's inside a converted mall). I hustled in and was there is on time. I sat down cool and relaxed and not short of breath. My BP was normal. Last year in August, when I went to my first seminar/apt I remember circling the parking lot to find the closest spot, feeling like I was walking "forever" to get there, was all sweaty when I got to the office and my BP was 160's when they checked me in.

75 pounds gone means I no longer look for the closest parking space and I won't look like I could be wrung out after walking. Just little things like this make you appreciate weight loss and health. I have a ways to go but I've come so far!!

I completed my first 5K last night! I jogged about 95% of it, so it was definitely a victory! Finished under 46 minutes, which isn't too shabby.

I never would have dreamed of running a 5K before! I wouldn't have imagined it 8 months ago, when I had surgery. Or even 4 months ago. And here I am totally proud, ready for the next one, and motivated to improve my time.

Two NSV posts for me back to back!

Yesterday I went and got a mani, and I hadn't seen this manicurist in a while. It genuinely took her a minute to recognize me. Then of course came the questions. She asked what I weighed, I told her, and then she said "I wish I weighed that". Someone wished they were my weight.... What?!! She said she weighs 163, which is a very normal weight to me, and a skinny weight to former me. A non-heavy person wished they were my weight... Mind blown.

NSV! Well, my dermatologist wouldn't agree!

Got my very first sunburn on my white belly after wearing my first bikini to the pool today!

Two clothes related ones:

I took 6 HUGE garbage bags of clothes to the local donation center, all far, far too big!

I went to Old Navy because they were having their jeans sale. I had my two kids with me so I didn't feel like trying stuff on, I just grabbed what I thought was my size. Got them home and they were WAY too big! I had to go exchange them for the next size down, and even they seem a little on the big side. I know Old Navy runs large anyway, but I have never in my life had that happen before :)

I enrolled in a refresher learn to row class with the the Everett crew house! I rowed in early high school but haven't rowed since- my hips and weight got way to big for the shell. This was a goal of mine when I set my mind too having the sleeve and over a year later and 160lbs lost, I've actually achieved it! I looked at a picture of myself from 9th grade in a regatta and I'm thinner now than I was then. :) I can't wait for my first class on Monday and getting out on the Water again! My hubby is doing it with me too. :). Yes! Hooray for an active date day! Sweeps in a 8 then maybe skulling.

I had a great NSV at the Elizabethan Theater in Ashland a couple of weeks ago. On my first visit, a year ago, I couldn't walk up the stairs to the balcony without stopping to gasp and rest. This year, I just walked right up without giving it a thought until I was at the top and remembered how I felt last year. I am ecstatic that I can now walk and climb stairs without difficulty.

My non-scale victory is being able to fit nicely in a airplane seat now without intruding into the space of another passenger, and not having my arms knocked by another passenger when they are going down the aisle .. and of course, me not knocking into fellow passengers when walking down the aisle.

* reconnecting with my bariatric pal community who has been a pillar of strength during my early post-op and pre-op where i worry about not being able to have blood drawn and stuff. Currently using another name as I lost my log-in details :) Hope to be an encouragement as wellas be encouraged.

What a great thread and inspiring to read!!

I'm only 8 weeks post op and 45 lbs down, there're a lot of small NSVs but the following are what really please me;-

- Last week I was be able to walk around on high heels again, only 2 inches high but boy, my legs look great!!!

- My blood pressure is down to normal (120/80) and off the meds.

- This is a bit embarrassing but for the first time in years that my weight is lighter than my husband lol

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
