Wii Active

Recommended Posts

I went out and bought Wii Active today, and love it. I haven't worked out in about 8 months, and I really wanted to give this a whirl.

Least to say, I am impressed. I just did the easy 20 minute cardio work out, and broke a sweat. It felt good even with my ankles and knees popping like crazy. I know I'll hurt tomorrow, but I plan on doing this 3-5 times per week. . .

How fun Tiff. My son and DIL brought their Wii over last Saturday and they had a new game pack - it had bowling, table tennis, golf, sword fighting, archery and several others - I think like 16 in all -- they played a few as did Bearded and it seemed like a real work out. I know there are those at work that SWEAR by the yoga, etc. Bearded and I don't even have a Wii (probably one of the few in the world) and when I suggested it, Bearded just gave me 'the look' ... so I guess I'll stick with working out at my friends, and re-incoporate my walking DVDs, pilates and bike riding. Keep us posted on your progress!

I'd like to have a WII. they are pretty spendy and then you have to pay extra for the WII active.

I smashed up my car so my extra money is going to go to getting it fixed:mad0::thumbup:

Daisy, how did you smash up your car? Are you okay?

I thought about getting a wii, but it just isn't in the budget right now. I don't think we would use it much anyways. Plus, we go to the gym.

Sounds like fun Tiff!

A friend at work was just telling me about this! He's a thin guy and said that it is a real work out! Just don't think I'd use it... my son has a Wii maybe I'll just borrow his :drool5:

We have a Wii & love it. The kids enjoy the games & dh and I do, too. Wii Active is on my wishlist, but unfortunately it's not in our budget right now. I'm glad to hear you like it, though.

I never thought we'd use ours, but we love it. It's great because it's so interactive, and we can all play unlike the other systems out there.

We have the Wii Sports with bowling, boxing, and tennis, and a few others, it's so much fun. I'm not a big gamer or anything, but the Wii offers so much.

I mowed the back yard yesterday, and weedeated around the house, so I didn't work out last night. But, tonight, it's on again.

I am fine, just a little mad at myself for being dumb. My friend has a little brick flower box next to herdriveway. They had their trailer parked on the driveway. My car sits really low to the ground and I didn't see it. I was being careful trying not to hit their trailer.

The flower box is toast.

Tiff, maybe I will have to reconsider it once the budget allows.

Daisy, I think we have all done something like that one time or another. I was in a hurry once and backed out of the driveway knowing darn good and well my hubby's trailer was right behind me and ran smack into it. I haven't lived that down to this day and it was years ago. What is important is that you are okay.

I'm glad you like yours and using it. My husband got me the wii fit last year and I used it for a while...it was really fun, maybe I'll have to try it out again.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
