:redface1:The surgery took about 2 hours, (I'm told) and it went well. My Doc likes to put his patients in delux accomodations, so I am living the sweet life while I recover.

WARNING! TMI SECTION:

I am very gassy, and have been encouraged to belch as much as possible.. So I've been walking around burping like a 10 year old boy does for fun VERY unladylike!.. I am still having bouts of nausea and spitting up plegm.. that's the most uncomfortable thing..., that & the dry heaves.. They are going to keep me cathed for a couple more days until my "output" increases... (looking forward to losing that thing, I can tell you)

Over all I'm feeling pretty good.

There was a little spot on my leak test that the doc thinks is just a curve.. but they're holding me a couple extra days to get another look. He doesn't seem worried, so I'm not. And hanging out here won't be a burden. I'm looking out a 14th floor window at the East River in Manhatten, a truly gold-plated view.

So now I'm playing a waiting game.:biggrin2:

Glad to hear you are doing well. I hope you are released to come home soon. BTW, are they giving you something for the nausea? I don't remember expereincing that much but I was always given something if needed.

Congratulations on your surgery -- yes, the gas is common - it's the only time when everyone was happy that I was burping and farting! The nauseau (or drive heaves) should pass soon -- and hopefully they are giving you something for it. Enjoy your deluxe accomodations and the view - and having everyone wait on you ... each day will get easier!

Hope that spot on your leak test turns out to be nothing.

Glad you are recovering and in a nice comfy place.

One thing you never want to be is a "head scratcher" for your surgeon.

My output continued to be nil (gained 14 lbs in Water weight) and I had what they called a "postoperative ileus". Nothing was moving anywheres. That coupled with the anomaly on my contrast test send the doc back in for another look. Everything was apparently OK... but there was a lot of pushing fluids and IV potassium (which I am apparently extra sensitive to) and finally some action when I was able to roll onto my side for an hour.

As I get past this part, I'm going to try and find out a bit more about what caused that "out-pouching", or whatever it was they saw.

I finally got home yesterday, and am working at getting all the sips, and as much dietary Protein as I can handle at a time.

I'm still not quite back down to my pre-op weight, so don't look for anymore updates on my ticker until the damn thing is moving in the right direction.!

I am glad they determined you didn't have a leak, and seem to have the other issues under control as well. I hope you have a speedy recovery and I can't wait to see that ticker start moving.

Oh that sucks. By output do you meen peeing? I had the worse trouble the third day. It seems like your bladder and brain are not connected yet. I am not sure they still are as I never know until the last minute now that I need to pee.

I am glad you are home. Don't try and clean that house yourself! You need to rest. Make whoever made the mess clean it up. You are not a maid. Your a person who needs rest, walking, and sips!

Yeah, that's what I meant. Well, I'm having no problem in that department right now.

MY big problem is that my first day home, I woke with a need to get to the john, swung my legs out of bed and gave myself a massive charliehorse. This has now been cramping on me for two whole days, my left foot and ankle are swollen, and I'm finding it hard to get in all the walking that my strenght & breath would otherwise allow me. I'm going to call the PA at my surgeon's office tomorrow for hints on how to get this leg to relax.

I have been dealing with non stop cramps in my feet and calves since right after surgery. It got so bad they scanned me for clots in my legs. None there. It sucks. Hopefully it goes away soon.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
