do you FEEL like you have to pee

Recommended Posts

Rosey.......get with your PCP. Simple urine test to see if you have one will give you (and me) a whole lot of peace of mind.

My sister ignored symtoms of a bladder infection and ended up in the hospital with an infection in her kidneys. She was really, and I mean REALLY sick and she didn't just have major surgery like you did. It took her weeks to recover. She could have died.

Call your doctor, please?

I wonder if the loss of urgency might be due to the fact that there is so much less abdominal mass pressing down on the bladder once you have lost 20 or 30 lbs. Pick up a 20 or 30 lb child, and imagine feeling that weight sitting on top of your lower abdomen with a bull bladder....

It might just be this mechanical reason.

How many of you no longer have stress incontinence ( a little involuntary leaking when you cough, sneeze, or strain), since your surgery?

I haven't paid attention to that, but now that you mention it I do think the stress incontinence has gotten better. I can't remember any episodes since surgery. That would be a blessing! After having 4 babies, crossing my legs while sneezing became normal! :) It wasn't bad, but enough to be aggrivating.

:001_smile:My surgery was this past Monday, and I thought it was just me that had this issue. You guys really help with a lot of my strange feelings since surgery! Oh and I'm off pain meds as of today. Also did anyone else have tape burns, after bandage removal? Those are terribly painful, if not for those and the asthma problems I be feeling really good, but really TIRED!

I don't know if it was tape burn, but I had two spots where the tape was that got irritated & itched like crazy.

Yes, I had "tape burn" -- if fact you can still see where I put a large bandage over the drain site incision and that was 2 months ago!

guess I'll add hypoallergenic tape to my list of things to take to the hospital with me when I go.

This forum has helped me create a good list. Thanks to all!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
